A Healthy, Happier Life Takes Committment On Your Part

Raw Food Diet Review – Fad or Fab?

While some diets are considered fab by the experts, the raw food diet on the other hand is one of those that are highly recommended by health professionals. Dr. Axe actually even promotes it, even calling it a lifestyle that helps promote eating foods while these are in their natural state.

What is Raw Food Diet

The goal of the raw food diet is so that the body could get needed nutrients from easy-to-digest foods. Now, don’t get too hooked up on the “raw” description – you’re not required to go all out raw completely. There are several variations to this type of diet. Aside from fresh produce, you can include the likes of fish, fermented foods, nuts, eggs, sea vegetables, raw dairy products, and even some meat while on the raw diet.

There are some foods that you should not eat though. Going on the raw diet means that you’ll have to avoid eating foods that have been homogenized, pasteurized, or generally all foods that have chemical fertilizers, industrial solvents, chemical food additives, or synthetic pesticides in them. Processed foods like cereals, bottled condiments, breads, processed meat, cheese, and refined oils should be avoided altogether or reduced to a great extent.

Who Can Benefit From It

Practically anybody can benefit from eating a raw diet, but more so for people who have the following conditions – cancer, kidney disease, gallstones, Parkinson’s disease, heart disease, high blood pressure, hormonal imbalance, joint pain, muscle aches, and autoimmune disorders.

What are the risks involved?

Some argue that people may be better off eating cooked foods because raw foods pose a threat to bacterial contamination.  However, there are studies that show that eating raw foods could lead to longer lif.

Bottom Line

Adding raw foods to diet can have its benefits but take note that there are other things that you should do if you want to become healthier. For one, you should also include exercise as a part of your lifestyle.
